I love you, my angel,
More than life itself.
My home is in your heart,
Now and forever.
For you, my soul is singing
For you, my heart is beating.

Legolas stared at Elrond, trying to realize that all his dreams had finally become truth. He glanced at his adas and saw from their smiles that they approved heartily. His eyes started to flow with tears of happiness, as he launched himself into Elrond's arms and whispered his answer.

"I will be yours for all eternity. Melin chen, Elrond nín. (I love you, my Elrond)"

"Aye, I am yours, and have always been. I am so sorry that it took me so long to admit that," Elrond whispered gently, holding Legolas close. He felt his own eyes moisten too, when they finally stood up. He looked at Legolas and the smile he saw on his beloved's face resembled with the Anar herself.

"I would have never thought that I would end up your father-in-law, Elrond!" Lindir chuckled, as he braided Elrond's hair with nimble fingers.

"This feels almost like a miracle for me too, Lindir. I never thought that someone so young and lovely would want me," Elrond admitted, blushing.

"You were wrong, Elrond. Legolas has always been very sure what he wants from life and he was but a child when he decided he wants you. I cannot blame him, for he has always had extremely good taste," Lindir said and grinned when he saw the blush on Elrond's face intensifying. Elrond had always been dear to Lindir and nothing made him happier than the Half-elf had finally found his happiness with Legolas. Lindir knew from experience that Elrond didn't give his heart easily but when he did, the half-elf would love and protect his mate with all he had. Lindir couldn't wish better for his beloved and cherished son.

When Lindir finally finished his work, Elrond rose and turned to look at his former foster-son. The grey eyes swam with unshed tears.

"You don't know what your acceptance means to me, Lindir. I always thought that you wanted someone younger and more beautiful for your son. Legolas deserves only best," Elrond whispered, and saw Lindir become serious. He took Elrond's both hands, thus making him look him in the eye.

"Believe me when I say that you are best for Legolas. I have not forgotten how good you were to me when I was a child and in your care. Your appearance is beautiful to all who care to take a look, but even more beautiful is your warm and completely loving heart. How could any ada ask for more for his son?"

"Raising you was no hardship for me, Lindir. You were so easy to love, and Legolas is the same. Thranduil is very lucky to have you," Elrond breathed, his heart warming. He was happy to see his foster-son so happy and cherished and he silently made the promise to always love and cherish Legolas in the same way.

"I know, and I am lucky too to have them. Thranduil is my whole world and I am sure that you will have same happiness with Legolas. He is a true treasure and you know it better than anyone. And now I am going to check how he is faring," Lindir smiled.

Elrond looked behind Lindir, his heart full of joy and anticipation. Only few more hours and he would have his meleth.

* * * *

Legolas looked out from the window as Anar finally set behind the trees. His heart fluttered in his chest; soon he would have Elrond as his own, and all his loved ones were together with him to celebrate his happiness. The servants were just lighting the lanterns, for Legolas wanted to be bonded with his beloved in the garden.

The door opened and Legolas turned around. He smiled as he saw both of his adas coming in.

"I see that you are ready, Legolas. Who braided your hair?" Lindir asked, studying his son with mixed feelings. He was proud of his beautiful first born, but at the same time he felt melancholy. Soon Legolas would follow his mate to Imladris.

"Ada Thranduil did. I doubt I could have managed to do it myself," Legolas said, and the King chuckled at the admission.

"I bet Elrond is just as nervous as you, Legolas. I still remember how I was when we were going to tell Elrond about our bonding. I felt like a puddle of goo," Thranduil admitted, smiling at his memories.

"I am so happy that you accepted him. I love him more than anything; I always have," Legolas whispered.

"It is your happiness that matters to us, ion nín (my son). We always suspected that you two would marry someday. I have not forgotten how you always declared that Elrond was yours when you were an elfling," Lindir chuckled, when he saw his son blushing. But then Legolas smiled and hugged them both.

"I knew what I wanted even then, didn't I? Elrond is really mine, and I am not going to let him go, ever again."

Elrond waited in the garden with Thranduil, trying desperately to hide his nervousness. Sadron was also with them, and he held Aerlinniel in his arms, for Lindir was going to escort Legolas to the ceremony. All Mirkwood elves were also gathered in the clearing, to witness their beloved Prince's binding. The Anar was finally set, and the ceremony was about to begin at any moment. The King himself had promised to perform the ceremony, and his generosity warmed Elrond's heart. He could have never bind with Legolas without his family's blessing, knowing how deeply Legolas loved them. But this was beyond his wildest dreams.

Elrond stirred from his thoughts as the big doors suddenly swung open. He gasped when he saw Legolas in all his glory; he was more beautiful than Elrond had ever seen him. The prince wore a cream colored undershirt covered by a deep blue robe with gold embroidery. The fabric made Legolas' skin glow and his eyes shone brightly with happiness and love. His hair was braided into formal Mirkwood style that revealed his royal parentage. Elrond stared him like a heavenly vision, his whole being burning with need to own this magnificent creature. When he slowly walked closer, escorted by Lindir, Elrond saw a shy smile that made him almost weep with the beauty of it. He extended his arm and Legolas took it, finally stepping beside him. Their eyes locked, and Elrond gasped as he saw Legolas' eyes glowing with an ethereal light: joy, warmth and love so deep that it shook him to his very core.

"So beautiful. I must be the luckiest elf in all Arda," Elrond whispered, almost drowning into abyss of Legolas' gaze. He smiled as Legolas blushed beautifully and whispered his answer:

"So are you. I love you, Elrond nín."

Finally Elrond managed to turn his focus to the King, who had waited for the opportunity to start the ceremony.

"This day brings both sorrow and the greatest joy for me. Sorrow, because soon you, Legolas would leave us to live beside your chosen mate. Joy, because you have found a worthy mate who will love and cherish you as you deserve to be loved and cherished. I am happy and honoured to give you over to this bonding. May the Valar bless you both."

The King had an unusually warm gaze in his eyes as he spoke, but at the same time they shimmered with unshed tears, revealing Thranduil's true emotions for all to see. He took a deep breath before he managed to continue.

"The time has come for you to say your vows. Bind each other in love."

Elrond started his wow and at his surprise, his voice rang clear and sure. He poured all his heart and soul to his words, so that there will be no doubt in anyone's mind how much he loved his soon-to-be-hervenn.

"I love you, my Legolas, more than life itself. You are love of my life, my light within the darkness, the very breath of my being. In this moment I take you as my beloved and cherished mate and in return I give myself to you wholly. My heart, soul and body, my whole being, are now yours to keep. In your arms I have found home, safe and peace and I never turn away from you. In you, I have found everything I'll ever need. I thank the Valar of that day you came to my life. Since then I have been blessed among our kin."

Legolas trembled with emotions as he heard Elrond's warm voice reciting the words of binding, older than the time itself. He looked in those stormy grey eyes and saw his future and destiny written in them. In Elrond's arms he belonged. Whatever happened, he would love him till the end of days. A single tear of emotion trailed down Legolas' cheek, as Elrond finally took his hand and placed a golden ring upon his finger.

"I love you, my Elrond, more than life itself.

Elrond couldn't take his eyes from Legolas, as the prince expressed his wow. Almost a painful longing rose deep within him. How he waited the moment he would carry Legolas to their wedding bed and make him his. Elrond waited, as Legolas slid the wedding band in its place and gently pulled him closer. For a moment he stared into cerulean eyes, before kissing Legolas with all love he had. He felt Legolas trembling in his arms and their kiss deepened. They didn't hear as the crowd around them cheered and shouted their well-wishes for the newly-bonded couple.

Elrond didn't let Legolas go even when they finally broke the kiss, but held him in loose embrace. He felt boundless joy, as Legolas buried his head into his chest, obviously wanting to be as close as possible. Gently, he smoothed Legolas' back as they listened together Thranduil's last words that sealed their bond.

"May Eru (the One) bless your union and may Valar guard your path, so that your lives are sealed together for all eternity. You aren't two anymore, but one heart, body and soul. Your union will last till the end of times, and no Man, no Elf, no Creature can ever drive you apart."

Elrond felt a surge of emotions running through him as Legolas raised his head and met his gaze. Those beautiful, blue orbs were full of tears, but even through them Elrond could see love and desire that sent his heart racing. The spell between suddenly broke as they heard Thranduil's amused chuckle. Flushed, they turned towards the King, who now cast aside his regal dignity and swept his son into his arms.

"I know you will be happy together. May all your dreams come true," Thranduil said, hugging Legolas tightly.

"Thank you, adar," Legolas murmured softly. He turned towards his ada Lindir, and smiled as Lindir cupped his face with affection. The blue eyes, so alike his own, swam with tears and Legolas pulled his ada into tight embrace.

"I'm so proud of you, Legolas. You are so beautiful together," Lindir whispered, his voice heavy with emotions.

Elrond felt his own eyes filling with tears as he looked at his newly-bonded mate and the deep affection that was between him and his family. His heart almost burst with gratitude and joy as he too was pulled into their arms.

* * * *

The celebration continued during the evening, and for the first time in his life, Elrond felt that his heart was with it. He smiled fondly at his young mate, who fully enjoyed of their celebration. He didn't resist as Legolas continuously dragged him to the dance-floor, wanting to share every single dance with him. He held Legolas close taking pleasure of his lean body against his own. Legolas' voice caressed his skin, as he hummed with the familiar tunes, and every now and then whispered soft endearments to his ear.

When they finally swayed with the slow, romantic tune, Elrond had had enough. He couldn't take his eyes away from Legolas; his flushed cheeks and shining eyes was too much for him to resist.

"How long you do want to be here, ind nín (my heart)? He asked softly. "I do find myself longing to retire with you."

Legolas' breathless laughter teased Elrond's nerves before he answered:

"If that is what you want... what are you waiting for?"

Elrond gasped as Legolas pressed even closer and kissed him. His highly strained self-control finally snapped and he lifted Legolas in his arms, carrying him away from the hall. He didn't care about the shouts of encouragement and amused laughter around them. The only thing that mattered was overwhelming need to possess his meleth.

* * * *

Legolas was almost delirious with anticipation, as they made their way to the chambers that were prepared for them. He felt so safe and loved in Elrond's arms and wanted to stay there forever. He had his arms wrapped around Elrond's neck and sucked sensitive skin, leaving a visible sign of his desire. A low groan echoed in Legolas' ears, inflaming him even more.

Elrond set Legolas down and led him to the chambers. Legolas didn't give much attention to the room, that was filled with candles and fresh flowers. He saw only the bed that Elrond would soon have him on. It was made with finest silken sheets and softest cushions and blankets. Not that they would need any extra warming tonight, for they would find enough warmth in each other's arms.

Without hesitation, Legolas turned around and leaned further into Elrond's embrace.

"I've waited this for so long. Take me now, and never let go."
