Love of my life,
That’s what you are.
My beautiful angel, always
Always I will love you
With all that I am.
Your love makes me alive again,
And gives me a new hope.

Legolas finally bid his good nights to the Lord. His head reeled; he needed to do something, anything to save his beloved from a loveless marriage. But what could he do if the Lady of the Light was really as dangerous as Celeborn said? He sat on the bench for a long time, now knowing what to do. And he needed to protect his little sister too; he would never forgive himself if something happened to her.

Legolas’ whole night and next day passed like in a fog. Before he even noticed, the evening had arrived again. This time he didn’t’ go to the Fire Hall. He needed to be at peace when he had so much to think of. Celeborn’s words haunted his mind, but even more he thought of tomorrow, when the wedding was about to celebrate. How he could prevent them? Legolas felt sick when he thought of the things that Celeborn had told him.

“Why, Elrond? Why did you hurry to propose to her when I was willing to give you everything? I would have loved you like you deserve to be loved. Would you even have believed me if I told you what Lord Celeborn told to me?”

He stirred from his thoughts when he heard steps nearing. He flinched when he saw who was approaching. Completely frozen, Legolas could only wait to hear what Elrond would say.

“Legolas. I didn’t expect to find you here,” Elrond murmured his heart pounding. Legolas looked so beautiful that he wanted nothing more than to go and hold him. But he had no right to do that anymore…

“This evening is too beautiful to spend it inside. I… would you walk with me, Elrond; this one last time?” Legolas whispered, emboldened by the longing gaze in Elrond’s eyes. Could it be possible that Elrond loved him, despite his actions?

Elrond could have wept when he saw Legolas’ hopeful gaze. His common sense told him to decline, but his heart cried yes. How could he have denied anything from this beauty who he loved more than the life itself? He didn’t say anything but extended his hand as a silent invitation.

They didn’t talk much while they walked; they had each other’s company and that was enough for both of them. Legolas furtively studied Elrond’s profile, knowing that this would be probably the last time when he had an opportunity to have his beloved by himself. He decided to take everything he possibly could from this unexpected chance.

They headed to the fountain where they had been countless times together. Both were so drowned each other’s closeness that they didn’t see a couple already there; not before it was too late.

A blond elleth laid on the ground beside a dark haired ellon, obviously strained from their earlier lovemaking. Both were completely naked, and they didn’t even to try to cover themselves when they noticed Legolas and Elrond. The ellon was unfamiliar to Legolas, but he recognized the elleth and his heart froze. Was it really possible Celebrían to be so calloused that she slept with another, only a day before her wedding?

“So, you decided to join in the fun, my soon-to-be- hervenn and Prince… Legolas… that was your name?” Celebrían purred shamelessly.

“And do you really think that I will marry you after I have found you like this?” Elrond said coldly, feeling sick. He may not love Celebrían, but he could never disgrace their betrothal like this.

“If that is so, I’m glad, Elrond the Peredhel. How could you ever imagine that I would let you touch me… you filthy half-elf?” Celebrían spat, her face turned into ugly sneer.

“What do you mean?” Elrond asked weakly. The whole situation felt like a nightmare.

“Did you think that your unnatural affair with that little whore would stay unnoticed forever? Oh aye… your dear little prince is just like his ada before him. Pray tell me Legolas, are you too already waiting a bastard for your lover? Maybe that is a good thing, because you, half elf, will never get so close to me that I could carry your child. The mere thought of you makes me sick!”

Legolas couldn’t believe his ears. He didn’t even stop to think how it was possible that this elleth knew his ada Lindir. He felt only a white-hot rage rising in his veins. No one insulted his beloved ada without payment! Before he noticed, he had stepped forward and backhanded the elleth across the face.

“If I ever hear you saying that again, I will kill you with my bare hands, do you hear me?” He bellowed and shook her roughly, before throwing her away. Then he turned and grasped Elrond’s arm, dragging him away. He didn’t see how Celebrían’s face turned into victorious smile, despite the handprint she had on her face.

//I did my duty, Master Námo. He won’t want to marry me now.//

//Your duty isn’t done yet, Vanmoriel. You need to take care of the Lady of the Light also. Her time has finally come. You need to be ready tomorrow.//

Vanmoriel smiled; she had almost succeeded in her task, but before the final act she had a little time for herself. She turned and pressed herself tightly in her lover’s arms.

“Now… where were we…”

Elrond didn’t say anything while they walked back to the Last Homely House. He was pale and silent, and Legolas began to fear for him.

“Elrond? Are you all right? Don’t listen to her, saes!” He begged; when they finally were in Elrond’s rooms but Elrond still didn’t say anything, nor did he react in any way when Legolas tried to speak to him.

“I… she was right, in sort of… I have been a complete fool, and now I am paying for it,” Elrond finally choked.

“Elrond! You cannot believe her filthy lies!” Legolas cried out, pulling Elrond in his arms and cradling him. He felt Elrond trembling, and his heart ached. What he could do to convince Elrond that Celebrían had been completely wrong?

“You don’t know, Legolas… I already knew that I would never love her, and there has not been a single day that I haven’t regretted my betrothal. But I thought that it was a… suitable punishment for me when I hurt you so. Go now, leave me… I’m not worthy for your attentions. You are young and beautiful, and some very lucky elf will have you as his mate.”

With that what he had left from his willpower, Elrond drew away from Legolas’ embrace and turned away. He didn’t want Legolas to see his tears, and tried desperately to keep them back since the young elf was gone.

“No, Elrond. I won’t leave you, no matter what you say,” Legolas said quietly, reaching Elrond’s shoulder and turning him around so that their gazes met. He had to stay; he would do anything to take Elrond’s pain away.

“Legolas! Don’t waste your precious life with this mess. It is far better that my line really ends here, for I have brought nothing but misery to my loved ones.”

Elrond’s hopeless tone chilled Legolas to his very core, and tears streamed down his face.

“No, Elrond. You are wrong. I would proudly carry children for you; it would be like a dream come true. I would love and cherish you forever if you were mine, meleth nín.”

Elrond closed his eyes, and a shudder wrecked his body. This couldn’t be true, that Legolas had just expressed his love, when it was far too late. For them, it has always been too late. He knew full well that Legolas would never belong to him. And still, Legolas’ words had stirred something in him; how happy he would be if Legolas was his mate and carried his child!

Legolas looked at Elrond, who was still drowning in his pain. He felt so helpless; anything that he said didn’t seem to help. Finally, he made his mind; if mere words weren’t enough to convince Elrond, maybe he should try something else. In his heart he felt peace; now it was right time to pursue his heart’s desire.

“Look at me, meleth nín. See for yourself, what you do to me with your mere closeness; how I burn for you every single moment I am with you,” Legolas said softly, but demanding Elrond to obey. And Elrond watched mesmerized, how the young elf slipped his robes away and stood before him naked and fully aroused.

“I love you, Elrond nín. Let me feel what it is to make love with you, just this once. Take me, make me yours,” Legolas pleaded, pouring all his soul and heart to his words.

Elrond was bewitched. He couldn’t believe that this was really happening. He had dreamed of Legolas for so long, but any dream couldn’t compare to the reality. Legolas was so beautiful, so desirable when he stood before him, his pale body softly glowing in the moonlight. His beautiful blue eyes were darkened with newly awakened desire when he begged to be taken. Elrond knew he was lost. He had to have Legolas, to make him his.

“I love you too, aen nín (my angel). More than I could ever tell,” he whispered with a shaky voice. After a moment’s hesitation, he pulled Legolas in his arms and into their first, earth shattering kiss. He let his hands explore Legolas’ bare body and the young elf trembled in his arms. Elrond didn’t remember why he wasn’t allowed to have his heart’s desire; he was blinded with the passion and love he had had to hold back for so long.

Legolas’ heart almost stopped when he felt Elrond’s lips on his own. He moaned against Elrond’s mouth, melting into his arms, as if he had always been in there. Never had he tasted anything as heavenly as Elrond’s kiss.

“Elrond… meleth…”he whispered, feeling his knees weaken and Elrond acted immediately. He lifted Legolas up, carrying him on the bed. He could see that Elrond too was aroused, and his eyes were darkened with desire… because of him! Legolas waited, his heart racing, as Elrond started to undress himself slowly, only one thought in his mind.

“Dear Elbereth! He has given up!”

Legolas opened his arms as a silent invitation and to his great joy, Elrond settled beside him without hesitation. They kissed and Legolas let his hands run on Elrond’s strong body, marveling at his beauty. He wanted to touch his meleth everywhere he possibly could.

“Oh, Elrond…you are amazing! I have never seen anything this beautiful,” Legolas whispered, tears of happiness in his eyes. He could hardly believe that this was really true; that he was finally making love with the elf he had loved for so long! But Elrond’s intoxicating kisses and caresses continued, until Legolas’ whole body burned and all his fears had disappeared like ash in the wind. Without shame, he spread his legs for Elrond, begging his lover to take him. Slowly, carefully Legolas was prepared until Elrond finally leaned close, and he was slowly filled to bursting.

Elrond didn’t move, and Legolas felt him trembling in his arms. When he looked into Elrond’s eyes he had always loved so much, he found them filled with tears. Legolas kissed them away, one by one, and held Elrond tightly. When they swayed in the waves of ecstasy Elrond’s voice echoed in Legolas’ ears, as he thrust into him again and again, whispering words of love. Elrond was now his beloved mate, the joy of his life, the very breath of his being, and Legolas knew that he would never want another.

Legolas loved the moment when Elrond finally released his seed into him. His tears flowed freely from the sheer joy that his beloved had found so much pleasure in his arms. Legolas heard Elrond's scream of rapture, crying his name, but at the same time he sent a heartfelt plea to the Valar that had finally granted him his heart’s desire:

“Saes, give me his child!”
