The leaves had already turned and would soon fall. The warrior lay motionless on rocks that held the last warmth of the changing season. His fair hair had fallen away from his face only to be picked up by the breeze, fine strands blowing gently in time with the grass.

Another watched the path of the breeze, the gold of late sun reflected in the hair and traces of moisture drying on parted lips. He had lingered just out of reach, but now moved closer and fell to his knees. The ranger's hand reached out to touch the still cheek.

"What are you doing Vig?" Sean murmured, sleepy from the warmth of the autumn sun and not yet willing to move.

"Taking your picture," came the quiet reply.

Sean just smiled lazily as fingertips ghosted across his eyelids, journeyed down his cheek and traced the gentle curve of his lips. The camera shutter had opened and closed to create an image that would appear much later in the red light of the darkroom, but the fingers recorded more. They had to. Time was growing short and soon all Viggo would have left would be memories and his picture of Boromir.
