Orli batted his lashes as he pretended to melt in his co-star's arms. "Thanks for catching me."
"No problem."
"And it feels so good falling into you…" said Orli with a love-struck expression. Piano music swelled as he sang: "Enter you…ahhahaha…"
"Stop!"
"Sorry, Dave. 'Enter you,' that phrase is so corny; I can't help it."
The director let out an exasperated sigh. "The song is about love at first sight; of course it is corny!"
Before the actors could re-try the scene, the theatre manager interrupted their rehearsal. It was closing time.
After dismissing the cast and crew, Dave sidled up with Orli. "How about we grab a drink at Willy's, my treat?"
Willy's was the most prestigious gay bar in New York. Though Orli wasn't interested in his director, the opportunity was too good to pass. "Sure," he grinned. Tonight would be fun!

Dave had been flirting with the hunky bartender Karl since they arrived. Not that Orli minded; it gave him time to explore the spacious bar. Suddenly, drums, primal and exotic, flooded the room. A modern day Apollo, masculine and proud, clad only in a blue thong, strutted onto the walkway. With reckless abandon, he gyrated to the powerful beat, running his hands suggestively over his perfect form.
For a brief moment, stunned coco orbs met the dancer's piercing gaze. The world vanished as Orli felt his body set aflame by the desire lurking within the golden god's eyes. All too soon, the spell was broken. Around the youth, men whistled appreciatively as they placed money inside the dancer's thong. Though a romantic, he was no fool; this beautiful man would never be his. Without a backward glance, he fled; he needed solitude to subdue the irrational love bubbling in his heart.

Thirty minutes after leaving Willy's, Orli was still at the subway station; there was a major delay. He boarded quickly when his train finally arrived. As the door was closing, a tall muscular figure slipped aboard. He could scarcely believe his eyes; it was the dancer from Willy's! Settling beside him, the golden god smiled. "Hey. I'm Viggo."
Blushing, the youth stuttered, "Hi, I'm Orli."
"Oh, Orli, I'm so afraid I lost you. If not for Karl's new 'friend', I wouldn't know where to find you."
"But why would you want to find me?"
"I think you know."
Orli's heart threatened to explode when Viggo claimed his lips in a wondering kiss. With the train slowed, he reluctantly pulled away. "My stop is next."
"Maybe I can walk you home?"
"I'd love that." Arm in arm, Orli and Viggo disembarked and began a new stage of their journey.
*****
Eyes fixed on Viggo, Orli poured his love into song. "Enter you, voila is show time, you brought the house down with a dance and a dum-da-dee. Enter you, in less than no time…"
When his golden lover smiled at him, he knew he'd never make
fun of love at first sight again.
