*****

Elladan was in a foul mood. There was no denying the fact. He had been stuck for two weeks now sitting in on discussions with emissaries from Mithlond, just as his father had expected him to do as heir to Imladris. That was torture enough in itself, but the fact that during that time Elrohir, his beloved twin, had been out patrolling the borders made it only worse. Elladan missed him desperately. He had barely slept since, denied the comfort and security of his brother's warmth and gentle touch every night hence. He longed to hold his brother close and snuggle into that body that he knew so very well and cherished above all others.

His mood was hardly improved by the fact that Haldir had gone out on the patrol. He knew he shouldn't be jealous of the March Warden; Haldir had always been a good friend to both of them, but Elladan couldn't seem to help himself. He missed Elrohir and was jealous of anyone who was able to be by his brother's side when he couldn't. It also upset him that the patrol had all seemingly returned, but he had not found his twin anywhere. He had questioned Glorfindel about it, but the beautiful, blond Elda had merely said that he thought that Elrohir had a secret mission to complete first before returning. His cryptic answer had not satisfied Elladan, but the Lord seemed unwilling to divulge anything further, so Elladan had no choice but to accept what he had been told for now. He would seek out Haldir and see if he might be more forthcoming with information.

Elladan set off to find the March Warden, his pale azure robe billowing about him as he hurriedly scoured the house and the surrounding gardens for any sign of Haldir, but to no avail. No one seemed to have seen him either, having questioned most of the staff unsuccessfully. Elladan's foul mood deepened. Neither his beloved or the March Warden appeared to be here, and that could only mean one thing...they had to be together. Elladan shook his head, trying to clear away such thoughts. He went back to the chambers that he and Elrohir shared to wait, not that waiting was something that came easily to him.

As he entered their chambers, he was immediately aware that his brother was near. He could sense his beloved and his mood began to improve somewhat. Stepping into their shared bedroom, his eyes widened in wonder at what he found there.

I'll be your dream I'll be your wish, I'll be you fantasy. I'll be your hope, I'll be your love Be everything that you need.

Elladan found himself standing in a room full of the most magnificent flowers that he had ever seen. Their scent filled the room with the perfume of nature. They seemed to be everywhere he looked, upon the tables, along the book shelf, some even lined the entrance from the balcony as if to create a garden path into their room. Elrohir had most certainly been diligent in collecting and arranging them in such beautiful arrays of color.

"Do you like them brother?"

Elladan spun around slowly as he was addressed by a much-loved voice behind him. "I do indeed, Rohir-nin. I...I do..." Elladan found himself unable to finish the thought as he finally gazed at what he was certain must be the most beautiful creature the Valar had ever created.

Elladan was sure that he had just walked into a dream for what his eyes beheld was nothing short of his most intimate fantasies. Elrohir was standing in the doorway, half leaning against the door facing. He was draped in a midnight blue robe with silver-threaded accents. It was partially undone, leaving his pale, graceful throat exposed as well as part of his taut chest. His luxurious raven hair was left unbraided, falling mostly across one shoulder, which only served to enhance the appearance of the delicately pointed ear peeking out from the opposite side.

I'll love you more with every breath Truly madly deeply do

Elladan had not realized that he had been holding his breath until he was near urgent in need of oxygen. The release of that held breath became a deep appreciative sigh. Elrohir smirked at the obvious effect he was having on his twin, his eyes twinkling with mirth. "Will you not welcome me home, Ladan?" Elrohir teased.

"Aye, I would a thousand times over, Rohir," Elladan eagerly replied as he reached out his hands to his brother who took them without delay.

Elladan pulled his twin close and pressed, a first soft kiss upon his lips. He soon deepened that kiss, filled it with all the passion and longing that he held for his beloved. Elrohir was no different, showing clearly to his brother that he had indeed longed for him as well. Elladan made to move both of them to their bed when Elrohir suddenly broke the kiss and pulled away just a bit from him.

"Is there something wrong, Rohir? Are you not as needful of my touch as I am of yours?" Elladan questioned, confusion upon his face.

"Nay brother, naught is wrong. I simply have further plans for us this night before we take to our bed." Elrohir explained as he lovingly cupped his twin's face in his palm and gently kissed him upon the tip of his nose. "Come with me my brother," He said as he took Elladan by the hand and led him out upon the balcony.

In one corner of the balcony there stood a beautifully appointed table and two chairs. Everything had been set up so elegantly. From the fine white linen tablecloth and scarlet napkins, to the gold chargers that held the plates of white china, the crystal goblets lined at the rim in gold. Upon the table also sat two candles of the deepest crimson, their flames flickering slightly with the gentle breeze. In the middle sat a platter of meats, cheeses, and bread, and to the side a small plate of fresh fruit. A bottle of Mirkwood's finest Dorwinion had been placed near the back of the table, waiting to be opened. The sight these all made showed the great care taken to make everything just perfect. Elladan's heart was so touched by his brother's thoughtfulness, and his eyes radiated with love as he looked upon his Elf-Knight.

"Do you like it, muindor?" Elrohir asked, worried by his brother's continued silence.

"Aye, Rohir-nin. I am simply amazed by it all." Elladan answered as he pulled his twin into his arms and kissed him reverently. "Everything is simply perfect."

`As it should be my brother, for this is a special night.' Elrohir thought as he led Elladan to his chair. He had so many things that he wished to say to his love, but there was time enough for that after they enjoyed what he and the cooks had worked so hard to prepare. He could only muse over his intentions for now as they both began to eat.

I will be strong, I will be faithful Coz I'm counting on A new beginning A reason for living A deeper meaning (yeah)

Elrohir watched as Elladan ate his meal. His eyes lingered on his brother's slender fingers as they lifted a berry to his soft lips and took it into his mouth. Elladan's tongue licked the juice from his lips and fingertips and Elrohir's sex twitched at the sight. How he loved these seemingly innocent gestures of Elladan`s. His heart was aflame with love and desire for his twin, his soul's other half, and he would make that abundantly clear tonight. Tonight would hopefully be a new beginning for their love. As Elladan finished with his meal, Elrohir arose from his seat and came around the table to once again take his brother by the hand.

"Come brother, and sit with me for I wish to hold you in my arms a while." he led Elladan to the lounge chair on the opposite side of the balcony.

And when the stars are shining Brightly in the velvet sky I'll make a wish, send it to heaven And make you want to cry The tears of joy for all the Pleasure in the certainty That we're surrounded By the comfort and protection of The highest powers In lonely hours The tears devour you

"I like the sound of that Rohir-nin, for in your arms is where I belong," Elladan stated with great conviction as he relaxed into his twin's awaiting arms.

"Aye, and I belong in yours, Ladan, always. I could never wish for anything more than to be held in your high esteem and within your love forevermore. That is what I wish to speak with you about, Ladan, if you will permit me." Elrohir waited to hear Elladan's answer.

"Anything you wish to say has great merit with me muindor. We are as one in all things" Elladan replied.

"No brother, not quite." Elrohir began as he turned his love about just enough for them to gaze upon each other's faces. "In one way we are not yet one, but I would remedy that tonight, my love, if you are so inclined as well."

"Of what do you speak beloved?" Elladan queried, confusion reflecting in his voice and eyes.

"I would have us declare our love before the Valar this night. I would bind myself to you with the stars as our witness." Elrohir continued as he fished a small bag from his robe pocket.

Opening the bag, Elrohir took out two identical bands of mithril. On each was etched a name along the inside of the band. Elladan one read, Elrohir on the other. Elladan stared at the bands in awe. His eyes quickly trying to blink back the tears that had started to form. Then gazed into Elrohir's argent eyes and saw the great love for him there so clearly written in their depths.

Oh can you see it baby? You don't have to close your eyes Coz it's standing right before you All that you need will surely come true

"Aye, brother, the stars shall bear witness to the binding of my soul to yours, making us completely one at last, as it should be." Elladan's voice quivered with emotion as he turned around to fully take in his beautiful brother's face, a face that was now filled with every bit the emotion that he knew his own displayed. "I feel that if I were to close my eyes, when I opened them this would be naught but the most beautiful dream."

"Nay beloved. This is not a dream, but destiny. Can you not feel it?"

"Aye, Rohir-nin. Destiny it is." Elladan agreed as he leaned in to kiss his brother softly upon his lips before parting from him once again. "I, Elladan Peredhel, take you, Elrohir, for my bonded mate. I call upon the Valar to hear my prayer and the stars to bear witness to the binding of our souls for eternity."

Elrohir choked back the tears that were yet threatening and replied, "I, Elrohir Peredhel, take you, Elladan, for my bonded mate. I call upon the Valar to hear my prayer and the stars to bear witness to the binding of our souls for eternity."

The gentle breeze that had been ever present during the evening stilled as did the sounds of the night itself. The stars began to shine more brightly than the twins had ever seen them do so before, appearing as diamonds sparkling upon a bed of black velvet, one star in particular twinkled merrily in the sky above. Earendil, aboard Vinglot, sailed across the sky with the Simiril attached to his forehead, shining even more brightly this night, the night of his grandsons' binding, showing his support for the two young lovers and the approval of the Valar as the bands of mithril were exchanged and the vows recited.

I want to stand with you on a mountain I want to bathe with you in the sea I wanna lay like this forever Until the sky falls down on me

Both brothers so overcome by emotion sank into each other's embrace. They held each other without speaking for what seemed like forever. Finally, Elladan looked up to see his new husband's face.

"Rohir-nin, I cannot truly express my wonder and gratitude for all that you have done for me this night," he began, silencing Elrohir's attempt to answer with a gentle touch of his fingers upon his love's lips. "I must confess that when I was told that you were on a secret mission, I was greatly disappointed. I was even more than a little jealous when I could not find Haldir to question him about your mission. As foolish as it sounds, I feared he had lured you away from me in that time that he had spent with you, and my heart was sorely grieved at the thought. I am sorry that I thought so little of your love for me. Forgive me, meleth, for I greatly wronged you with my thoughts."

"I forgive you my love, my husband, my life. You should have known that Haldir would never win my love from you even if he wanted to do so, which he most certainly proved that he does not." Elrohir countered.

"Why? Did he not think you fair enough for his attentions?" Elladan questioned, somewhat affronted that the March Warden wouldn't think his brother beautiful and desirable.

"Hush hervenn, he is an honorable elf and wishes us great joy. How do you think I managed all of this tonight? Haldir was the one who helped me plan and arrange all of this for us." Elrohir retorted with a great deal of mirth.

Elladan chuckled at his own folly, for to believe that Haldir would seek to steal his beloved away from him was just that...folly. Elladan decided that he would apologize to his friend and thank him for his efforts first thing...in the morning. For now, he had his lover and husband right where he wanted him, beneath him on the lounge chair. A sly grin crossed Elladan's face just before he leaned in to draw his lover's luscious lips into a heated kiss, full of passion and love. This would most assuredly be a night neither twin would ever forget.
