They all departed the House of Healing and headed to the private quarters of The Last Homely House. On the way, Legolas and Estel were walking side by side behind Haldir and Glorfindel. Their hands brushed one another and they looked into each other's eyes. Both bowed their heads because in shame. Before they knew it, they had seized each other's hands, and it seemed right. Estel looked up and noticed his servant, Elmorion, walking past with a shocked look on his face.

Elmorion noticed that Estel had his hand clasped into the hand of an elf. 'What is this?' he asked himself. But then he realized that it was not his place to question his master.

Estel looked around and saw other elves with disapproving looks. Estel realized what he was doing and he snatched his hand from the elf's quickly. 'What am I doing?' he asked himself. Yet the gesture felt right. He couldn't keep his hands to himself. He wanted to grab the elf and kiss him so hard that he could taste the depths of his soul. The feelings it brought him aroused and confused him and he clasped one hand with the other to fight the urge to take Legolas' hand in his once more.

Legolas noticed when Estel took his hand and heat raced through him. He felt Estel rubbing his finger with his thumb, but then the hand was quickly torn away and the sensation he had experienced went missing. He wanted it back but he knew he had to maintain dignity when he walked in the open like this where everyone could see.

The four entered the house. Haldir took Legolas to one suite, and Glorfindel took Estel to the other. When each started in different directions, a feeling of despair overpowered Estel and Legolas. They both felt it inside and turned to one another. Glorfindel spun around immediately when he noticed Estel was no longer behind him.

"Estel, you need to come with me. We need to start." Glorfindel insisted as he walked up to them.

"NO!" Estel shouted and ran the short distance to Legolas. They embraced, kissing one another deeply as if they would never part. The need for each other was great. They each ran their hands up and down the other's back, feeling the need for constant contact.

"This will pass, this urgent feeling for each other," Glorfindel explained, pulling them apart. "Or at least it will lessen. We must prepare each of you, for if we don't neither of you will find peace in each other's arms."

Estel looked upset, his need to be with the elf was an almost overwhelming compulsion. But then he agreed. "We had better do what Glorfindel says or we will never find peace in each other." He looked into Legolas' eyes and fell into them. "I love you," he whispered, brushing his lips over the elf's. Then he turned and went with Glorfindel.
