- Wrong Step -
~*~
A few decades passed since Glorfindel and Erestor left the woodland realm. Glorfindel was still travelling between the other elven realms besides Mirkwood. And Erestor, nobody saw him at all. In fact, Thranduil tried to send out a search party, however, he knew that even if they found Erestor, he wouldn't come back to the wood. Therefore Thranduil gave up the search. But there were some rumours, some said that he sailed to the West; some that he dwelled in deep of the forest; others even said he was captured by evil creatures and tortured to death. By the end, no one could prove those were true. As a result, Erestor became a mystery elf.

At dusk, Glorfindel took a break in a village of men on his way back to Rivendell. The clouds were getting thicker and it seemed it was going to rain tonight. He decided to walk down the street after settling Asfaloth at the inn's stable before the sky went darker. The village wasn't big but the market was full of shops and people. Children ran around and maidens weaved. Glorfindel smiled when he saw the people lived happily here. He stopped in front of a small shop. He saw a butterfly shaped hair clip on display just inside. It was made of silver and inlayed with rubies. He didn't know why he felt warm when he looked at the clip. He walked inside and bought it without thinking. He had no idea himself why he bought this clip. 'I must have it for some reason.' he thought and shrugged. Then he put it in his pocket and left the shop. When he was outside the shop, he touched the clip inside his pocket subconsciously. The feeling was odd. He felt some connection to it. Unexpectedly, he heard a familiar name called.
"Good evening, Mr. Erestor." An old lady greeted the dark haired elf. "Would you like to buy some apples? They are fresh from the tree."
"I would love to." Erestor knelt down and picked some apples.
"Here," An old lady gave him a bigger one and an amiable smile, "give you the big one."
"Oh, thank you." Erestor accepted and paid for the apples.
"It is too much, Mr. Erestor." She exclaimed after she counted the coins.
"No, those spare ones are for the big apple." Erestor shook his head and stood up.
"But..."
"Just keep the coins." He smiled and prepared to go home. The house he lived was located on the border of the village near the forest. Even after he wandered around Middle Earth for a few decades and came into contact with different kinds, he still preferred living away from crowds.
On the way home, he didn't realize someone was tracking him until he heard his name being called out. He didn't look back at once when he heard that. Or he didn't dare to look at the one who called him. He recognised the voice even though he hadn't heard this voice for years. He started to panic and tried to run back to his house as soon as he could.
"Daro!" Glorfindel cried out. (Stop!)
Erestor stopped immediately. 'Please leave me alone.' He prayed.
"Erestor." Glorfindel spoke gently and stepped closer to the frozen elf. By the time he tried to touch the other, Erestor made his speech.
"Stay away from me." He said coolly, without looking at Glorfindel. Glorfindel ignored what he said. He circled his arms around Erestor and pulled him into his embrace. In a minute, Erestor's mind went blank and the apples fell on the ground. At that moment, the wind got stronger and the storm was coming. Erestor struggled to leave Glorfindel's arms. He turned around and yelled at him. "What do you want from me?" Glorfindel gave no answer. Then Erestor turned his back to the golden haired warrior and headed to his house.
"Wait..." When Glorfindel tried to follow, he stepped on an apple and fell with a thump; face down on the ground. His clothes were covered with dust and dirt but he didn't care and didn't get up. He knelt on the ground instead. "Please listen to me, Erestor." He begged.
When Glorfindel saw that Erestor had stopped moving, he carried on with his speech. "I thought I would never see you again." He swallowed hard. "I am sorry."
Erestor said naught and stood still.
"I know I did a terrible thing to you. I am not asking for your forgiveness, I just want you to listen." He let out a long breath. "I was angry at you when I rode back to Rivendell. I thought I could live without you. But the truth is I cannot. I didn't realise until one day when I walked in the backyard garden where I made a vow to you. I remembered that your face filled with surprise and happiness. I remembered how you and I felt about each other. By that time, I knew I was..." He paused. "wrong. In those past years, I missed you so much. My life became meaningless in your absence. Elrond even asked me to be a messenger for him because he was afraid I would get killed on patrol. I was not myself. I made an excuse to be a messenger and take the chance to travel around and hope I could find you. For so many years, I found nothing. But I didn't give up until I travelled to an elf village one day. I met an elf who said he saw you. It supposed to be a good news for me but it was not. He told me that he saw your dead body, he even showed me your grave. I couldn't believe what he said and what I saw. You were gone forever." By now, his face was wet. He didn't know if it was tears or the rain blowing on them. "Then I went back to Elrond and continued my duty to him. From that day, I travelled less and only drilled in the House. Until few weeks ago, I was sent for a meeting in Lórien. In fact, I plan to go back to the valley straight forward. However I can not explain to myself why I stopped in this village. Maybe the storm, I don't know. But now I know. It is you." Then he stopped and looked at Erestor's back.
"Are you finished?" Erestor didn't looked back and asked with shaking voice. "May I leave now?"
"No." He answered steady.
"What do you want?" Erestor spoke loud still not facing Glorfindel because he didn't want the other to look at his face covered with tears.
"I want to say I'm sorry and I love you."
However, Erestor didn't hear the last two words due to the thunder and the rain getting heavier. When he heard nothing from Glorfindel anymore, he ran back to his house at once. Glorfindel didn't follow this time he still knelt on the ground. Inside the house Erestor leaned on the door and let his body slide down along until it reached the floor. He huddled himself up like a ball and sobbed. He finally fell asleep without knowing what Glorfindel had said. The room was dark when he woke up. Erestor didn't know how long he had been asleep. He shook his head and cleared his mind then he stood up and started to light the candles. As he did, he walked past the window. He was surprised when he saw Glorfindel still kneeling on the ground letting the heavy raindrops hit his body. Erestor bit his lip and held his fist. He didn't care for the elf outside and kept on with his task.
Outside, Glorfindel didn't care about the storm and stared at the ground, like a penitent who confessed his sins. Suddenly, he sensed another's presence. It was Erestor wearing a cloak. Glorfindel blinked a few times and looked at him. Erestor spoke before he did.
"I came to collect my apples." He knelt down and started picking up the apples he dropped previously. "These are beautiful apples," He continued. "were grown by the old lady herself, with all of her love." When he finished, he covered Glorfindel with his cloak. "It is the same as our life. It becomes beautiful only with love." At that moment, Glorfindel couldn't hold his tears back. He cuddled Erestor and wept. "Let us get inside the house." Erestor offered.
Erestor took off the cloak and handed a dry towel to Glorfindel. Then he led him into his bedroom.
"You can sleep in my bed. I'm going to heat some milk." He smiled at Glorfindel and went toward the kitchen. Glorfindel took off his wet clothes and wrapped himself in the dry towel. He looked around the room after he secured the towel. It was small but simple. And he looked at the bed, the bed was small and it fit for one only. "Here, some hot milk." Erestor handed him a mug which was made of wood. The mug was crafted with very fine details.
"You made this." Glorfindel rubbed the pattern carved on its body. It was some flowers patterns. He recognised the shape of flower, it was the flower that once grew near his House in Gondolin. "Erestor..." He spoke quietly.
"Get some sleep after the drink." The counsellor gave him a smile which he hadn't seen for so long. "If you need anything, I'll be outside."
"You are not coming to sleep with..." Glorfindel paused. "in the bed?"
"No, you sleep on the bed and I'll sleep on the floor," Erestor waved his hand, "in the sitting room."
"No," Glorfindel shook his head. "You stay in your bed and I'll sleep on the floor... here if you don't mind."
"But," The dark haired elf protested.
"I sleep on the ground more than you do." A grin showed on the elegant face. "I am used to it. I will leave the bed for you."
"Thank you."
The candle half was burned and Erestor fell asleep after Glorfindel bid him goodnight and placed a kiss on his forehead. Nevertheless, Glorfindel didn't sleep. He sat on the floor and leaned his back against the wooden wall. He looked at the sleeping elf until Erestor woke up in the morning. Erestor knew it was morning even though the sun was covered by a thick cloud and it was still raining outside. After he got up and sat on the edge of the bed, he saw Glorfindel still watching him with a smile.
"Good morning, Erestor."
"Good morning." Erestor returned in the same manner. "You didn't sleep last night?" He sounded surprised because he found the blanket on the floor was untouched.
"It doesn't matter." Glorfindel stood up and walked toward Erestor. Erestor looked at the half naked elf and didn't know what to do. Finally Glorfindel knelt in front of the dark beauty and took the other's hands in his own and made his oath, again. "From now on, I will not let you go anymore. I pledge myself to you. I give you my own life until the end of Arda." Then he placed a kiss on the hands and continued. "Will you come back to Rivendell and stay with me?"
Erestor didn't know how long he had waited to hear those words again. His heart was dead and he thought that he would never be with Glorfindel since leaving Mirkwood. He didn't dare to pray for his return. But now, he was here and had made a vow to him. He thought he was dreaming, but he was not. He touched the face of the re-born lord. It was true and real. He couldn't control his tears anymore and they dripped down his cheek.
"Yes, I will." He replied with an unstable voice and pressed his lips to Glorfindel's. Glorfindel opened and accepted the kiss, cupping Erestor's face with his hands. Their tongues twisted together and Erestor's hand snaked around Glorfindel's body and pulled him closer. Glorfindel's hands moved down to Erestor's neck then his shoulders. Glorfindel's hands were busy taking off the Erestor's tunic. A pale white body was revealed in front of him. After the tunic was off, they continued their kiss. Erestor moaned when Glorfindel left his mouth and aimed at his sensitive pointed ear. He licked it from the ear lobe to the tip. Erestor closed his eyes and enjoyed the touch. Then Glorfindel moved his mouth to his neck and sucked it slightly. A kiss mark appeared on the white skin immediately. His mouth was now moving down to one of the half hard nipples. He sucked and bit it while his hand was twisting the other nipple. Erestor lost his control and moaned loudly when Glorfindel worked on both of his nipples. He didn't have this feeling for too long. He almost forgot how wonderful it felt being touched. Unexpectedly, his moan was cut short by his again-lover's kiss. On one hand, Erestor fell again into the kiss; in the other hand Glorfindel was unlacing the leggings.
'Lift it up.' The warrior spoke directly to Erestor's mind and he followed what he was told. Finally, Glorfindel took off the leggings and his towel.
Erestor moved backward his bed and let Glorfindel get in. The bed wasn't big enough for two. They laid down together and Glorfindel was on top. He set aside some of the inky coloured hair from Erestor's face and he could see his reflection in the other's eyes. They fell silent. It was Erestor who spoke first.
"There were some words I missed last night due to the thundering, can you repeat what you said?"
"I love you." Glorfindel paused. "Is that clear?" He teased and tapped the counsellor's nose with his elegant but strong finger while he used his arm to support his body.
"Well then," Erestor said when he moved his arms around the seneschal's neck. "show me."
"As you wish." Glorfindel gave him another kiss. "Do you have any oil?" They parted from the kiss.
"In the drawer," He pointed to the dressing table, "on the other side of the room."
"It is too far," Glorfindel shook his head. "I can use another thing to replace it."
Then he moved downward until he was facing his lover's entry. He lifted up the two perfectly shaped globes and licked the tight muscle. Erestor released a joyful moan. Glorfindel circled his tongue around the opening and wetted it with his saliva. By the time Glorfindel was working on the muscle ring, Erestor was working on his own shaft. He stroked it up and down, faster and faster. He came so hard that his seed spilt on his own hand. However, he was not satisfied. He wanted to be taken, taken by his long missed lover. Glorfindel seemed to understand Erestor's wants. He continued preparing his lover's entrance. When he heard a groan of release, he peeked at Erestor's grinning face.
"It seems I have a better lubricant." When he finished speaking, he took some semen with his two fingers. Then he used those juices as a lubricant. Once the muscle was ready, he positioned himself and penetrated the other's body with one smooth thrust. Erestor's breathing became hard as he tried to catch his breath. Before he could catch his breath, Glorfindel started thrusting even harder. They spoke each other's name and love words countless times during their love making. For most of the rainy day, they spent their time on the bed. When they couldn't take anymore, they collapsed on each other and fell asleep. Eventually, their bodies and their souls become one once more.

On the desk of the Grey Ship, there was a couple standing closely and enjoying the breeze from the sea. Erestor wore a silver and butterfly clip in his hair. The sun shone on it as he leaned his head on Glorfindel's broad shoulder and placed his arm around Glorfindel's waist. Glorfindel placed one of his arms around Erestor and his other hand was holding an apple which they had grown with their love.
