Summary: A birthday gift was given in surprise.
*****
Everyone was busy for preparing Glorfindel's begetting day which came in three days. They decorated the garden with different color lanterns, colorful ribbons and lots of bunches of seasonal flowers. There were songs and laughter everywhere. The whole garden was full of sounds of joy, except one - the silent raven-haired Elf Lord. It seems the happy atmosphere could not affect him at all. He still walked ghostly among those merry Elves. He didn't pay any attention to what the other elves were doing, even those beautiful songs in the air. He kept on walking back to his office with his emotionless face. On the way to his office, he was called to a stop by a cheerful elf-maid.
"Good day, my lord. Did you prepare any gift for Lord Glorfindel?" A highly expectant smile hung on her face.
"Nothing. What do you expect?" He answered with his usual cold voice then walked backed to his office again.
In fact, it was a lie. He *did* prepare a gift for the golden haired warrior. He walked back to his desk where a small box, covered by a black satin lay. The box was made of rose wood with a golden lion crafted on the lid. His finger traced those lines while his mind wandered. However, he was pulled back by a knock on the door. He covered the box with the satin and answered the door.
~~~
A day before the birthday, there was no singing in the air, no laughing among those merry elf-maids. Those colourful decorations were gone. All w ere ruined by a heavy rainfall.
"Lord Glorfindel should be blessed by Valar. How can they ruin this happy moment?" Eruanwen sighed.
"They have their reason, perhaps?" Arthvaineth answered.
"Reason? The celebration has to be cancelled." Faelwen said frustration.
"You can make it inside." A stee l voice came from behind them.
"My Lord!" They both cried with a surprise.
"The Hall is available. The celebration can be held inside the Hall." Then he turned his back and walked away from the shocked elf-maids.
"Did you hear that? He does care about the party!" Faelwen sounded as if she didn't believe him.
"Or he does *care* about Lord Glorfindel." An evil grin shown on Arthvaineth's face and they ran to the group and announced the great news.
The rain kept on dancing on leaves, on the pool or any surface. Even so it could not stop the enthusiasm of their hearts for their lord. Those happy songs and laughter appeared in the Hall again.
Glorfindel walked past the Hall after his work. He stopped in front of the huge wooden door and wondered what was happening inside. Nonetheless, he was stopped by few elf-maidens just before he reached the latch.
"Good evening, my lord" They said in union and bowed their heads.
"Good evening, my ladies." He replied with the same gesture. "May I ask what is happening inside?"
"Of course you may, my lord." Arthvaineth smiled at him. "But, I'm afraid that we are not supposed to tell you right now." She slightly pulled him away from the door. "I think you are very tired from your work today, perhaps you may need a rest?"
"Well," The elf-lord sighed with smile. "It seems there is something that should not be seen."
"Yes, you are right, but just for now." Arthvaineth said and kept him away from the Hall.
"Alright, alright. I see it is wise to take your advice, Lady of Secret." He winked at her and bowed his head. "So I bid you good night." Then he turned around and left.
"Good night, my lord." They cried out as they watched their lord disappear.
~~~
At the door of his chamber, a shadow appeared. It was no one but the silent lord. He sneaked in and placed that little crafted box on the table. He placed it carefully to make sure that the gift could be seen by Glorfindel when first he came in.
"Perfect." He whispered to himself and prepared to leave the room and the surprise to his best friend. His heart stopped dead when he reached the door. He heard a sound of steps toward the room, Glorfindel was coming back. It could not be. He knew the schedule of his friend so well. He should be in his office at this hour. How could he be here at this moment? He could not be found in this room. He started to panic because he could not get out through the door.
'The balcony.' A flash came across his mind. 'But it's raining outside.' He thought. He hesitated but he had no choice, the steps were coming closer and closer. He decided to get out of here even though there was heavy rain pouring outside. He opened the window framed door of the balcony and stepped out.
That plan was worked. Glorfindel did notice that a tiny box set upon his desk. A smile hung on his face. He walked closer and opened it. A flower shape brooch was placed on the chrome green velvet. The petals were made of pure gold and those diclinous were made of mithril. In fact, this box wasn't the only thing he found in this room, he did figure out there was a shadow outside on the balcony. A grin shown up on his gorgeous face. He knew who it was exactly. He knew he had no way to get out, he knew he couldn't be caught, he knew he was always perfect, he just knew him too well. Also, he knew he had to leave him some space to step down; therefore he put down the gift and went to the bath chamber but something was made up in his mind.
The lord who had hidden outside knew that it was time to get out of this damned place. He was wet and cold. What he wanted to do was take a hot bath and drink into his soft bed. When he saw Glorfindel had gone into the bathroom, he opened the window door quietly and made no sound though he was betrayed by the trail of the water drops from his robe.
"Ha, I got you!" A voice came from behind him when he walked past the bathroom.
Yes, he was caught and this was not as he planned. He was stunned by the voice from his good friend and he blushed with shock.
He had nowhere to go or hide. He just wanted to leave as soon as possible. He tried to run toward the door but he was blocked by the golden haired warrior. "Where are you planning to go?" The warrior asked.
"My room." He lowered his head and let his wet hair cascade over his crimson face.
"Umm... I don't think so." Glorfindel replied. "You are not going anywhere."
"Let me go." The wet elf spoke with a shaking voice.
"No." The warrior caught the shivering elf lord's arm and dragged him into the bath room. "You are wet and you need a hot bath." Inside the bathroom, there was ready a bath tub with hot water. Glorfindel handed the other lord a towel and left the elf alone. The dark haired lord would like to leave, however, no one can resist a hot bath when you were wet and cold. He stripped off his clothes and got into the water. He closed his eyes and relaxed himself.
~~~~
The dark hair lord walked out from the bathroom clad only in the towel and yelled at Glorfindel. "Where are my clothes?"
"Ah!" Glorfindel exclaimed and walked forward to the half naked elf.
"Ah!" The other elf's face blushed red with angry. "Is this your answer?"
"Calm down. Your clothes are wet; I put some of mine on the bed." Said the warrior as he pointed at his bed. "It may be a bit big for you. Anyway I think you need to dry yourself before you put on those clothes." Another dry towel was ready in his hand. "May I help you?" He asked gently.
"N..." He hesitated, but nodded.
Glorfindel started to dry his hair. The raven hair felt like silk even wet. He rubbed the silk like hair from the top carefully, and then he left his hair to dry the tip.
"It's beautiful." Glorfindel whispered when he placed his lips on the other elf's neck and gave it a kiss.
A moan of pleasure came from the other when he felt lips upon his neck and a powerful hand placed on his shoulder. The towel fell on the ground when Glorfindel placed his other hand on the side of his shoulder.
"You smell good." He whispered when he slid his hand from shoulders to arms. The golden hair lord turned him around and faced him. He passed his lips to the other's soft ones. The other elf lord tried to struggle out from the strong arms but he was melted by those powerful lips. He welcomed those passionate lips and surrounded by the tasteful tongue. He moaned and enjoyed being conquered.
In a minute, the raven haired lord was filled with lust, his tongue fought for domain and his hands were busy taking off the multi-layered clothing of the other. He undid the clap of the robe and slid it from the broad shoulders. Then he worked on the outer tunic and pulled it over the golden haired head. In between they caught their breath as much as they can then they kiss with lust again. Glorfindel's hand slid down to the waist and dropped the towel to the ground. On one hand, the silent lord's hands were still busy taking off the legging. In the other hand, the golden warrior's hands were busy exploring the body inch by inch.
Body met body, and Glorfindel's palms rested on his soon to be lover's perfect round globes, giving them a slight squeezed and pulling him into his embrace. He led him toward to the bed and they both fell down on the clean white bed sheet. Then they kept their hands busy exploring the other new territories of each other's body with lust. More touching, more caressing, more loving. And the rain, the rain was too shamed to witness their passion. The clouds silently moved away from them.
~~~
On the day of Glorfindel's birthday, a ray of sun sneaked through the curtain and placed its blessing on the golden haired lord's face. He turned his head and looked at his dark haired lover. His lover looked at him and smiled in return.
"Good morning, Glorfindel." Whispered the lord.
"Good morning." Glorfindel replied and placed a morning kiss on his forehead.
"I take it you already knew that those maidens prepared a party for you."
"Yes. But none of the other gifts would have been better than yours." Glorfindel raised his eye brow and said.
"You love the brooch?"
"No, it was you. I love you more than the brooch." He placed another kiss on his cheek.
"I love you too, Glorfindel." The raven hair lord blushed. "By the way, H appy B irthday."
"Thank you, Ecthelion"
