How did you come to fan-fiction/slash writing?
Years and years ago. Started with anime, moved on to non-cartoon fandoms,
(like star wars and highlander), and the rest is history.
How do you come up with ideas for stories? They just come to me and
I have to either spit them out or not be able to sleep at night.
What do you do to overcome writer's block? I don’t usually
get it because I never start a story without absolutely *having* to. If I
want to finish a story that I’ve lost momentum on (i.e. the long ones)
I just go back to them after a good night’s sleep. Everything always
seems cleaner after that.
Have you written in any other fandom? If yes, where can your stories
be found? All my fics of all the fandoms I’ve ever written in can be
found here: http://trinitycross.net/word
Do you use music as a soundtrack for your writing? If yes, what kind?
Sometimes, but not really. It tends to distract me. There is one case where
I listened to Aragorn and Arwen’s theme from the Two Towers cd and spit
out a mini-fic, but that was an isolated case.
Is there a certain time of day you usually sit down to write? At
night most of the time, but not because of anything other than the fact that
I’m less busy then.
Have you or would you write stories "on request" for readers?
Of course. I’ve written a fest fic and a story swap so far, and if anybody
wants to request, please go right ahead. Of course, you should realize that
there’s a chance I might not do it, but it never hurts to ask, right?
Which of your own stories do you like best? Hmm. I’d have to
say the Heart Mind
and Soul series. They’re
short, but definitely something I’m very proud of—I was able to
write Eowyn without bias, and managed to keep Faramir in character to boot.
Yay.
What do you think, why the mostly female writers in slash make up stories
about male/male relationships?
I don’t mind writing femslash, but Eowyn and Arwen might not make such
a good couple, considering they’re both in love with the same guy. Having
been in that situation myself, I can honestly say that the urge to rip out
the other woman’s hair is much stronger than any sexual urge I might
have had. Lol. In the case of other women writing more m/m slash, hell. All
I can say is that it’s more self-gratification than anything else. Lol.
Do you have muses who help you with your stories? If yes, who are they?
Just one. My sweetie, Ben. (Who is homophobic and refuses to read any of my
fics, but what we do at home provides plenty fodder for my overactive imagination.)
What do you think is your trademark in stories and why? I have no
idea. I’ve written sweetfics and seriousfics and sillyfics and rapefics...
I have yet to find my voice. At this point, I don’t really want to settle
on one particular style just yet. I like experimenting, and I enjoy being
as surprised as everyone else to see what pops out.
What part of your writing do you think still needs improvement? Grammar,
spelling, usual stuff. I don’t have a beta, so going over my stuff is
a bit of a bother. The grammar mistakes are minimal, but I’m really
OC about things like that. It has to be error-free, and if I notice a mistake
I usually re-upload the whole thing just to correct it.
Is there something you would never write? Nope. :) I’m utterly
shameless. Go figure.
