Favorite Story in Archive: Man, that's tough... I don't have just one, but I love Brother/Sister (Miranda Bell), Conflict (Kharessa Bloodrose), and Sweetness Follows (Tallulah)
Favorite Character (real / fictional): I don't read RPS too often.. Fictional: Thranduil, Glorfindel, Legolas, The Twins, Oropher, Fëanor, Sons of Fëanor
Most hated Character: Movie Saruman - he's just annoying, Lurtz - because he killed Boromir and reminds me of Gene Simmons, Movie Denethor – what an ass.
Favorite Movie: I don't have just one; LotR trilogy of course, Othello (Brannagh's version), Hamlet (also Brannagh's version), American Beauty, the Matrix
Favorite Book: at the moment "The Silmarillion"
How did you come to slash writing? I started reading a lot of fan fiction after getting interested in Tolkien. I was already a fan of Queer As Folk – Gale Harrold would make an excellent Thranduil by the way - and I just sort of jumped in, well... actually got pushed in by a couple of people.
How do you come up with ideas for stories? My muse (Thranduil) torments me until I put my ideas to paper (hence the title)… actually they just take on a life of their own as I write them. I get an idea and can't sleep until I write it down.
What do you do to overcome writer's block? Read Tolkien, talk with people about Tolkien’s characters
Have you written in any other fandom? If yes, where can your stories be found? I have written one story in the Troy fandom, it’s archived on OEAM.
Do you use music as a soundtrack for your writing? If yes, what kind? Absolutely, I most often listen to The Cult, Live, Sheryl Crow, U2, and Oasis.
Is there a certain time of day you usually sit down to write? I used to write in the afternoon, now I seem to be most productive in the mornings.
Have you or would you write stories "on request" for readers? Yes, I have and I love to do it... but I worry about living up to their expectations.
Which of your own stories do you like best? “Fear of Falling” and “Second Chances”.
What do you think, why the mostly female writers in slash make up stories about male/male relationships? That's an interesting question that I have thought about more than once. To me, it's because I am writing about Elves, which are androgynous in appearance... there is something extraordinarily alluring about two beautiful, sensual men, ravaging each other... I could go on forever on this one so I will stop there.
Do you have muses who help you with your stories? If yes, who are they? Oh yes... most often Thranduil... but also Glorfindel and Legolas, and lately the twins and Oropher and Fëanor.
What do you think is your trademark in stories and why? I have been told that I have a knack for using descriptive language that puts the reader in the scene, and I have been complimented for character development. I never use profanity in my writing, and I try to write erotic love scenes with as much poetic skill as I can muster.
What part of your writing do you think still needs improvement? Oh… all parts. I don’t think anyone ever stops growing and becoming a better writer. My grammar is pretty good, though I still struggle with comma usage and lay/lie from time to time.
Is there something you would never write? Rape,
violence, abuse, or mpreg. No offense to those who like to read it, but it
is just not my cuppa joe.
